Is Transition Assistance Program (TAP) for Military Spouses?

According to their website, TAP, the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program “bolsters opportunities, services, and training for transitioning Service members in their preparation to meet post-military goals.”

Whether you find that statement to be true or not, this program is mandatory for servicemembers who have at least 180 continuous days or more on active duty, including the National Guard and Reserve.

Now your family is transitioning out of active-duty military life and you might find yourself asking the question, “Is TAP also for me, the military spouse?”

Call this your TAP 101 primer.

Expert guest, Tyrone Hewitt, is dishing all about what TAP is, the curriculum it covers, what a servicemember should get out of it and the military spouse’s opportunities to be involved in the TAP experience.
